About the Search Process

At an exciting time in its history, Adelphi University, New York, invited nominations and applications for the position of provost and executive vice president.

The University sought a proven, innovative and collaborative leader capable of bringing a bold, creative vision as well as strong organizational and management skills to the position of provost and executive vice president.

A nationwide search for Adelphi’s chief academic officer began in 2017 and included 150 applications and an extensive interview process with the Adelphi community, including faculty, staff, students, leadership, and members of Adelphi University’s Board of Trustees. Final candidates also visited Adelphi’s main campus in Garden City, N.Y., to meet with faculty, students, administrators, staff, and trustees.

The provost will lead the University in its academic planning and set shared goals, policies and practices in the spirit of shared governance. The provost will play a key role in the implementation of the University’s long-range strategic vision associated with Momentum: The Strategic Plan for Adelphi University, 2015–2021.
